DataDoc: from a weekend MVP to a production SaaS

I built an MVP of a document service in a weekend and grew it into a SaaS with e-signing: today it is DataDoc.RU.

01Context

A document service needed to be tested in practice. I came up with the business direction — document templates — and built the first MVP in a weekend.

Today that service is DataDoc.RU (ex forma.today).

02Problem

Recurring documents have to be prepared again and again, data gathered manually, and signing arranged separately. The challenge was to bring these steps together in a clear service.

03My contribution

I lead development and the technical side of the service, own its architecture and work with key clients.

04Solution

Document templates and sending forms out for external completion, including HR templates.

E-signing: with a qualified electronic signature, including by two legal entities, and with a simple electronic signature by SMS.

The path from testing the idea to running a SaaS in production.

05Result

DataDoc.RU runs as a SaaS: template-based documents, external form completion and e-signing. I continue to lead its technical side and development.

06Takeaway

A weekend gave me the first MVP; real use proved the rest: an idea is tested by actual work.
